Teni Pearl-Trim Plissé Midi Dress

DETAILS

Teni is made up of soft ombré bands of ivory, blush pink, taupe and caramel brown. Each band is cut in a scalloped wave, and every seam is edged with a line of small pearls. The fabric is a Miyake-style plissé: very fine pleats that run straight down the bodice and sleeves, then sweep around the curve of the skirt. It has a round neck, long fitted sleeves with a pearl wave at the upper arm, a fitted bodice, and caramel godet panels at the hips that open into a full skirt finishing below the knee. The skirt has a lovely bounce, so it swings with you every time you move.

FIT

The plissé has a great stretch, so the bodice cinches in and follows your shape, then the skirt flares out from the hips. It pulls on with no fastenings.

The plissé is light and thin, so it's slightly sheer, especially in the ivory and pale pink bands. For a fully opaque look, wear a slip dress underneath. The slip is not included.

How to style it:
Keep it soft and let the pearls do the work. Nude or beige pointed pumps, small pearl or gold studs and a structured bag in caramel or chocolate brown. When it's colder, add a camel coat and sheer nude tights.

• Do not tumble dry or iron, as heat will flatten the pleats
• To store, twist gently into a coil to keep the pleats sharp, or hang it
